After Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States, the topic has been widely debated on and off the campaign trail.
Republican strategist and CBS News contributor Frank Luntz spoke to a panel of Muslim-Americans last week about the anti-Muslim sentiments in the United States.

CBS News has more on that discussion, including more on the exchange on the U.S. government's role in the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"As an American-Muslim, I really want to ask my government how they created the conditions that allowed for these extremist groups to come about," one female panelist said. "I question the militarism of our country. I question the invasion of other countries from our country. And as an American I feel like that's my responsibility."

Luntz asked panelists if they were Muslim first or American first.
"I am an American-Muslim. I can be both at the same time. I don't choose one over the other. I am an American-Muslim. I am both, simultaneously," another female panelist responded.
"Are you American or a Christian?" one panelist asked Luntz in return.
